Mum is coming down to visit. So, of course, I decided to re-arrange ALL of my books and ornaments.

So Mum is delayed, but I have enough money saved to book the plumber now wooo! So I have to pull the bathroom cabinet out and clean it all for him to do his work. Not sure what date yet but if I get the cabinet out its a big part of the job done and ready.

Cabinet is out :) now I have to re-arrange the patio again to fit it somewhere there haha. But it's going ok, I should be able to get it done before mum comes down.

Need to do some trimming and whippersnipping in the garden. Summer has just begun, we didnt really have a spring. It went from cold and wet to hot hot hot and about a month late. Garden is like a drying jungle and I nearly stepped on three different bobtails today. The watering for the summer season has begun but I am quite pleased with how well I kept up with it, not even nearly perfect but I did a good job of keeping paths cleared and grass down, its just messy in spots. Birds and bobtails love it though!

3 days until mum comes down. She is desperate to bring a puppy down to me. But all of our offers on pups yesterday were rejected :( so it doesn't look like it will happen because the rest of the pups available have been bred for the chirstmas eve market.

I have quite a bit to do, I defo blew another disc in my back last week so the house has fallen a fair way behind in general upkeep. The washing machine is on now. The dishwasher needs a few more dishes in before it can be run. I will clean the fridge later in the week, its too full right now! I got a heap of meat at the shops yesterday and divided that all up, so the freezer is packed full too. I have about a kilo of broadbeans from neighbour Jims garden. I am going to make him some crochet produce bags because since the shopping bag ban we have nothing to use! I have the broadbeans wrapped in his old used butchers paper. Yuck. lol.

I didn't get both my greenhouses taped up because I didn't have enough tape. Got gaffa tape yesterday, and I forgot how great that stuff is! But now the greenhouse looks like some kind of kink contraption. And suddenly our joyful cheers of love for "gaffa gaffa gaffa" at rock eisteddfods as a kid seem wildly inappropriate. I used an entire roll on one greenhouse, and one more greenhouse and roll of tape to go.

Whippersnipping is going to be an every day event this week. We had a big storm on the weekend with a LOT of rain in it, so the grass is growing wild. Its pretty bizarre, usually everything is brown and dry by this time of they year, and everywhere else is! I truly do not know how my grass and clover is still so green in comparison. I am aware though of just how much I have built up the property soil wise - got to be a foot, at least, in some places, so that makes me think about how much more thick the earths top crust must be with all of us humans on it, considering I put this much on to the yard in just a couple years. I got some seeds yesterday too. I will have to water my baby seeds later this arvo. I put a heap of radish and lettuce out last week and they need to stay moist. they were this morning from that rain but will be dried out by tonight with the sun.

My clothes couch needs to be cleared, and the craft room tidied up. Bunnies litter needs to be done again today or tomorrow. Vacumming after that. The vac needs a good clean out as well, the bag slipped off so the filter is filthy.

change the cover on the couch
Possibly move the couch and computer set up... I have to be realistic though and this is some heavy lifting that I maybe cannot do
Vacuum outer rooms, and lounge AFTER I have refilled the bunny litter and hay bins
Fill water bottles, put fresh sealed bottles in top of fridge and some in freezer
Wash winter blankets
bring in clothes washing
unpack/repack dishwasher
I want to clean the air con filter but again, I think this might be out of my range of movement for today
Sweep patio and front porch
Water garden
WHIPPERSNIP!!!

I have one more load of bunny washing to hang out and then 3 loads to bring in when dry.

Gotta change the puppy fencing on the patio. I dont think it will be long until she can knock it over!

Thats about it for now. I did a heap in the garden early today. Its warm so im glad i got so much done before the sun bit me. Gotta whippersnip again soon, but got the rosemary shaped today and trimmed some of the natives. Im defo going to invest in the larger trimmer. It will reduce the time it takes , just gotta grow some muscles to lift it!

Today is a rest day. Yesterday was a mad rush to the city for my last shop of the year. I also got a heap of puppy stuff and new rugs for the floor because the puppy slips on the wood.

Today i might get a load of washing done and a load in the dishwasher. I need to tidy the benches and make myself some real food.

Some garden jobs i noticed while watering today, not urgent but dont want to be forgotten either!

Clear around the base of the Geraldton wax plant
Clear around the shed bed
Start herb trimmings in pots
Train grape vine
Check fruit net
Collect duck eggs asap

Gona try take it easy today. So not much since i have already done the garden chores and a bit of tidying in the shed

Clean under the kitchen sink incase the plumber can find time for me next week. I had to find other jobs on top of the toilet for him to do because its hard to get any trade people when they have so much work on new builds.

Unpack dishwasher
Bring in washing
Wash the towels the dog spewed on
Wash dog (maybe tomorrow)

All these are done except the duck eggs! And shes starting to get hissy about them. First time mums

Still havent got those duck eggs... I am going to have ducklings if I don't get onto that!

Plumber is coming tomorrow yay! No more flooded toilet floor! Woo. So I am cleaning that before tomorrow. He is also fixing under the kitchen sink which was held together with duct tape when I moved in. It was all mouldy but I cleaned it out now and he should be able to fix that one easily.

Gotta tidy the kitchen table and clean the sink, take the bins out and water bottles out.

Might move the kitchen rug so that it doesnt get wet in his working too.

Now the apartment is getting an overhaul, there is no avoiding it anymore. I came home on Monday after a full weekend at my mom's and could no longer ignore the multiple bad smells or the half a dozen or more fruit flies in my kitchen sink. Eugh! Gross!

I have now, temporarily, moved into my mom's guest room, and, during the day, I will go to my place and do different things on my very long to-do list. It gives me a safe and healthy environment to sleep in at the end of the day and gives me more strength to actually get stuff done. My first day starts tomorrow!
  • I'm going to fill one, giant garbage bag of stuff to throw out
  • and then grab some stuff from the freezer that I forgot in my packing haste today
  • and anything else I may have forgotten
The real stuff starts on Friday and I will also be packing the stuff I rarely use but want to keep into moving boxes; that way, they will be ready for when I get a new place next year but also won't take up space and it'll be easier to keep the place clean for the foreseeable future.

I'm feeling good about finally getting something done :)

Tomorrow I have to post the dogs microchip info off and register her at the shire. I also have shop for bun food. That is a massive day for me. So once I come home I will probably not be doing much!

Wash towels
Bring in dog rugs
Look up poodle clipping tips
Finish Survivor 41

Didn't do all that. Did about half. Shopping wipes me out! Plus it was raining so washing was a no go. Next on list -
Pack dishwasher
Put away new bun litter and dog biscuits
I will be surprised if I get them done this weekend!

Alright, after a bad pain day yesterday, where I wasn't feeling up to leaving my mom's house, I finally got some shite done today!
  • I grabbed the few things I hadn't packed the other day and some stuff out of the freezer
  • I opened the window and pulled up the drapes to let some light and air in while I'm gone, air it out a bit
  • I put my bed linens in one garbage bag, and my top mattress in another, put them to the side so my dad can come to get rid of my couch/bed
  • then, folding together a moving box, I put stuff in it until it was full, shut it with tape, and wrote the contents
All in a day's work. It wasn't much, but it's a start. Tomorrow is a day off because the nieces are coming for a visit to bake Christmas goodies, but then it's back on Sunday to hopefully fill at least one more box and get more trash out; I had one small trash bag with me when I left today.

Even a little progress is still progress, right? :)

Its still raining, so no washing being done.
Dishwasher is done
Dog biscuits away
Bun litter is at the back door... Halfway there

Gotta bring the rest of the hay in for the buns. Already a hard job made harder with a dog that likes to eat hay. So I will have to vacuum the house and blower the patio once it is done.
