Apart from in season 1's Faith, all the reapers I can recall are female:

Tessa
Billie
Jessica
Violet
Merle
Betty

Were there any other male ones? Why do you think that they went with female reapers rather than male ones?

Maybe they wanted to give people the opportunity to ship - I could see that with Tessa and Dean.
