So we had the pilot ep for the spin off idea Bloodlines. What did you think of this idea of a spin off, was it the right time to do one?

I thought the spin off idea wasn't good, it lacked personality, the characters were too new and not that interesting and part of the thing I love about supernatural is that they travel around so much with so many different creatures.

I think there is potential for a spin off, but I think it needs to go the same sort of way The Originals did with already established characters.

I really liked the concept behind the spinoff, but I think they would have had a better shot at making it a series if they treated it as original and NOT a supernatural spinoff. The idea itself I liked; the spin off not so much. The idea of a supernatural mafioso is really cool. It would be something I would certainly watch... and I don't much care for many shows in the genre anymore. Supernatural Godfather would be the bomb though.

I wasnt impressed with the idea. A spin off would likely work with the insane fangirls, but I agree with @Death , I feel like if it was to work it would have to be established characters.

That just makes me think if when Cas interrogated the cat!

Maybe though they can do another webseries like they did with the Ghostfacers, just as a tester to see what people think of the spin off, once they decide on decent characters to use for it.

An After-life spin off, plenty of characters to choose from!

I didn't like the spin-off, I think they tried too hard with characters we had no investment in.

I don't like the idea of a spin-off at all. I don't think the show lends itself to that idea, especially of late. I think it might have been a better idea earlier in the shows run.

But in saying that, I think, if they wanted to do a spin-off, they'd have to establish the characters a little more first. Throwing them into one ep and then declaring it a spin-off won't work - we don't know these characters, why should we care about them? Introducing them into the show for more than one ep would be better. We'd have a chance to get to know them, to care about them.

Did anyone see the Anime series? How well did that work, could that be a possible spin off idea instead? Could be set in any time then and they would only need the actors for the voices.

Oh that episode was awful! I could have cared less about these people and they want me to follow them to their own show? No thanks.

I agree that it would have helped immensely if the characters had been more established.

I don't object to a spin-off. It could be awesome, if its done right.

I did. I don't really remember it that well. It was partly animated versions of actual episodes and some original stuff, right? I don't even remember haha. Which proves that I didn't like it that much. But I'm not a fan of Anime, so perhaps I'm biased or something, I have no idea what is classified as "good" in that genre. I do remember that Bobby weirded me out in it. He had a bowler hat and a creepy voice, haha.

I think a prequel series might work better than something spun off from what we have now. How did Rufus get into hunting? How did John meet Bobby? What kind of cases did John hunt when the boys were small?

Seeing Matt Cohen in a series about a young John would be wonderful, IMO.

Trouble with doing a young John spin off is that you would have to have the boys in it, and I think it's not really a show to have children in long term.

No. No. No. No young John. If you make it a prequel make it with a periphery character not one that is established and boxes you into a corner trying to maintain canon as well as making an enjoyable show.

I like the idea of a young Mary one, a teenage hunter trying to get away from that life and be normal, falling in love with John. Seeing them before cupid got them together.

Nah, after watching that last ep, I'd be super psyched for a Bobby/Rufus prequel, lmao!!
