Not what you thought you were reading?

Are there any fanfics that you started reading only to get so far and realise it's not what you thought it was.

For example you thought it was a gen and it became wincest (yes this has happened to me)

Or lines that have made you cringe?

I havent read any spn fic yet but twific went off the rails all the time.

So many lines to make me cringe, but also a boatload of quotes. I guess they balanced each other.

I have this series of one-shots favorited on my computer and recently went through the folder and decided to re-read it. It started off great and I wondered why I had forgotten how it ended...and then it turned into Sam/Lucifer and I wanted to throw up

That pairing wouldn't bother me, read a lot worse! Although there seems to be a bunch of Micheal as John with Dean fics around at the moment, don't know why, don't want to know!

I think I'm immune to the weirdness of most pairings, spent most of my teenage years reading any and all fanfics, once you've read Snape/giant squid, you realise anything goes in fanfic!

Oh I don't squick easily, either, but I just have issues with Wincest and Samifer, I'll read anything else but those two
