Yeah I am not particularly interested in her either. I feel bad for the boys, they wanted their mumma and she wanted her own thing. If she's not to be killed off, I'd agree with your recurring role. Its nice for them to have live contacts around.

she somehow resets history and the show ends the night she went up in flames but this time she doesn't, thus giving Sam and Dean the normal life she is trying to give them.

It would be a great way to end the show, honestly. And one that would feel earned and a definitive end. Plus then you could see John and Mary cooing over their babies. Seriously, that would be an awesome way to end it.
That would be kinda cool. Two generations of Ackles & Padaleckis acting on the show. That might be a first actually.

I think for me it's that she doesn't have much depth, she's just there. At least in the other world she had a use.
